I know it's been awhile since any of Henleigh's escapades have been written of, but I am trying to get back on track with that, since there are so many interesting stories about the little darling.
First, let me update you on what Henleigh has been doing. She went to training with Dale Donaldson after the traumatic event at the place we shall not name that we do not like. He told me she was timid, a little insecure, and probably had fearful aggression. Well, turns out she just thinks I'm playing with her when I tell her to calm down, and she gets riled up and rips shirts and leaves marks on your arms. Close friends and myself call it, "going psycho." We call her psycho dog. Anywho, that is the update on that. She's been doing it ever since she came home from training.
On Thanksgiving she was boarded because mom did not want to deal with all the dogs at her house and possibly all of them fighting because her dogs are territorial. So, Henleigh did not get to spend her first Thanksgiving with us, which made me sad.
However, Christmas is a different story. On Christmas Eve, Henleigh and I ventured to Nana and Pop's house. On Christmas, Henleigh propped herself on the counter and nibbled at the edges of the pie that was sitting on the counter. My stepdad yelled, "I'm going to beat that dog if she gets into the pie!" I said, "No you won't because she's my dog and no one is touching her." He said, "Yes I will if she gets into the pie." Then I said, "I will go home if anyone touches my dog, it's no one else's dog to touch." Then the discussion was over because I was about to blow up. Anywho. She did pretty good at Nana's though, despite crawling over Nana's head to get to mom on the couch. That didn't make Nana feel very good. Then after three nights at Nana's we traveled to Mammy and Papabeach's for Christmas there. Well...I took her out to potty multiple times; then after the last time I took her and she did nothing, she came inside the house and pooped. After she finished she ran off like a scared child, because she knew what she did was wrong. We took her on a trip to meet daddy with his truck, and she saw a cat in the window at one place we stopped, and she nearly broke out of the car trying to get to the cat. She finally calmed down when we left. She has tried to eat Mammy's Christmas decorations numerous times, and has been successful a few. She leaned on the counter to grab some cheese, but we're not sure if she got any or not. The nastiest thing she has done so far is go psycho on me outside just awhile ago after she pooped. I don't know if she feels liberated after she poops and just goes wild because she feels relieved, or what is going on. All I know is she pooped, came at me as normal with teeth bared, and started trying to rip my jacket and eat my arm (as always) she never really hurts me, just leaves little marks. I really believe she just has a lot of energy and wants to play. Anyway; the scary part was that her collar came of in the scuffle, and I was so scared that I held her fat by her neck, through the pain, while she knawed on me, just so I could hold her down on her side to rest so I could put her collar back on. I was more worried about her getting loose and running away than my arm at the moment. I know it seems crazy but I was so scared she would run away if I didn't get that collar back on. I love my dog. Maybe I'm the psycho one?
She is now in the crate sleeping, after finishing her Kong filled with treats and peanut butter. She's so adorable when she sleeps...
